the end of an era...

ok, so xanga has served me well over the years, but i really have nothing left to post here, and very few reasons to log in, so i feel it is time to say good-bye to dear ol' xanga.

actually to be honest, i find the internet to be a huge waste of time, especially when it takes away from real life relationships.  sure if its the only way to tell a lot of people about your life, then that is fine, but i figure the people that are really interested know how to reach me, so in order to begin simplifying my life of all my internet accounts this one will eventually be going by the way side.

you can always email me:  burntheashes@hotmail.com

or find me on facebook.  http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=614336553

peace.

weekend

my week/weekend was full of blasts from the past and very overwhelming to the brain, however, it was really good all the same.

visiting friends??

so it seems that chicago friends are working to plan a little road trip out to MI for a weekend, and that makes my heart very happy. :)  since taking my new job, i've been much busier than ever before and its hard for me to get away, so it would be so awesome for people to come here.

God's been challenging my heart a lot lately, but in the midst of warfare there is peace.  peace, that God is still the victor.  so life doesn't always take you down the road you once imagined for yourself, but when you are willing to seek God and follow His will, you will still find blessing abundant!  I am excited about what could come, but know that its only thru prayer that many of God's plans for this area will succeed, so it looks like an old gift of mine is going to be getting a lot more use.

"and let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reapif we do not lose heart.  Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith." -Galatians 6:9-10

love.libery.disco.

ha!  so i'm back from ccca.  that's a conference for all us camp folk.  it was a lot of fun and my head is swimming with thoughts of how i can help improve our camps marketing/promotions department.  i've been working on familiarizing myself with video editing.  its been an interesting battle between me and the programs and the computer (it is ever so slow and not really capable of all i'm trying to do at once) but i'm slowly but surely getting there.

i really don't have too much to blog about.  i get the house to myself this weekend, and i'm hopefully going to see a show.  i can't even begin to tell you how long its been since i've done that.  so i'm looking forward to it.

right now i'm hungry and wanting it to be lunch time!

laughter

this week at work i was blessed by a little thing we all know as laughter and friendship.  we have a group of people that come out and do different kinds of office jobs for us and a couple of those people are unable to communicate like we all do with clear words, but in the midst of the day i could hear the beautiful sound of a laughter that erupts out of pure joy.  these two people have learned how to communicate with each other in a way that you and i will probably never experience and share a bond of friendship that is so special and encouraging that in the midst of whatever we face, there is beauty in relationship.

we are a blessed creation of God to be able to experience that relationship, not only with God, but with each other.

i've been reading a lot of paul v's writings to stir my heart at beginning a new way of thinking about church around here.  there are times i try to run from God's call, this time i don't think i can run.  i just have to trust that He will lead me and fill in the gaps where i feel inadequate.

i also had a blessed weekend, and look forward to being a bigger part of our worship band.
